IDS utilizes Oracle's proven Java technology in order to bring you a first class user experience. The user
interface will seamlessly adapt to which ever operating system you are currently running, from Windows
Vista, 7, and 8 to Apple's OSX.
On the server, or servers, Oracle's Java J2EE technology is used to facilitate the communications between
the user's desktop application and the database. This allows for a great deal of flexibility and
scalability from one or two users up through a larger group of 100 or more users.

The use of Java continues with the optional active communication between the server and the user's desktop
through the implementation of JMS technology to send appropriate data updates, or server status
messages, to the clients.
In brief:
• J2SE for the client desktop application
• J2EE used for the server(s)
• JMS for certain server to the client communications
